Haliclona caerulea
Like most sponges, the Blue-Caribbean Sponge has no digestive system. This is due to the fact that this sponge is unable to move and would never be able to catch prey that would require a digestive tract to digest. The way that this sponge obtains the nutrients is required is through the simple process of water moving through it, leaving bacteria that catches on to the sponge, and then the cells of that sponge using phagocytosis for each cell to individually digest the bacteria.
