The Fibre-Optic Hydroid is an organism, that like the anemones, has a proper digestive system that it uses to obtain the nutrients it needs to survive. Digestion begins with the hydra releasing a poisonous substance that stuns its prey, and makes it easier for the hydra to catch. Afterward the food enters the mouth where few enzymes are released in order to help break down the food to help obtain nutrients faster. Like sea anemones, the hydra then takes the food into its stomach where it absorbs its nutrients, and any excess is spit back up the mouth and out of it.
